Brazilian municipalities advance 2027 budget planning and social initiatives
Several Brazilian municipalities are advancing their 2027 Annual Budget Law (LOA) planning and social initiatives.
In Goiânia, Mayor Sandro Mabel presented a proposed 2027 budget of R$ 11.7 billion, an 8.27% increase from 2026. The proposal emphasizes a significant boost in investments, allocating R$ 1.65 billion—over 80% more than the previous year—toward infrastructure, sanitation, and urban works. Priority areas include health, education, and social assistance.
In Sinop, the municipal government is focusing on tourism development and social support. The city is strengthening public policies to promote business and nature tourism. Additionally, the local administration received a donation of 20 mattresses from the biorefinery Inpasa for the Casa de Passagem, a facility serving people in vulnerable situations and those in transit. The city also celebrated its 52nd anniversary with the launch of a literary project involving local students and teachers.
Meanwhile, Porto Velho is in the technical consolidation phase of its 2027 budget proposal, integrating revenue projections and expense programming across various municipal secretariats. In Londrina, a public hearing is scheduled to present the accountability reports for the second quarter of 2026, covering health funds and fiscal management.
