Sinop authorities mobilize resources to combat forest fires

The Sinop Governorate has announced a comprehensive mobilization and infrastructure plan to combat forest fires in the Sinop region. Under the Sinop Forest Regional Directorate, a significant logistical network has been deployed, including 21 water tenders, 65 first response vehicles, 21 construction machines, 108 land vehicles and equipment, and 132 water tankers.

Human resources for the operation include 660 professional personnel and 669 forest fire volunteers. To ensure early detection and rapid response, four observation towers are actively in use, supported by 30 prepared fire ponds and pools to maintain water supply.

Authorities emphasized that forest protection is a collective social responsibility and urged citizens to remain vigilant during high-risk periods. The Governor's office also warned that individuals found responsible for causing forest fires will face heavy legal sanctions under current legislation.
