Sinop rolls out tourism data platform, housing award bid, and urban upgrades

The municipality of Sinop announced several initiatives across public services, urban development and cultural events. A new Tourism Intelligence Center (CITS) platform was launched to collect and share data on visitor flows, economic impact and accommodation statistics, aiming to support planning and policy making.

Sinop is a finalist for the national 21 August Housing and Land Regularization Award, competing with the "Nossa Casa" housing construction program and the "Escritura na Mão" land‑registry initiative, which together have regularised about 2,500 properties and plan nearly 1,000 new homes.

The city continued its "Cidade Limpa" operation, removing a total of 2.6 tonnes of abandoned cables from streets to improve safety and visual order. In health services, a Chevrolet Spin vehicle was delivered to the Endemic Diseases Center, funded by a R$ 160 000 council amendment.

Preparations for the 2026 "Festeja Sinop" festival included a technical visit to Praia do Cortado, while a gastronomy contest will select an official municipal dish. Registrations also opened for the 34th Sinop Olympic Games and the 3rd Paralympic Games, adding new sports and beach venues.
