Sinop, Brazil temporarily closes Avenida Rute–Rua Manaus intersection for drainage repairs

The municipality of Sinop, through its Secretariat of Works and Urban Services, announced that the intersection of Avenida Rute de Souza and Rua Manaus in the industrial sector will be closed on Tuesday, March 4 and Wednesday, March 5 for the entire day. The preventive works aim to resolve a long‑standing drainage problem that causes water accumulation, flooding and potholes during rain. The team will clear the drainage system and correct points that impede proper water flow, reducing the risk of future flooding.

Secretary of Works and Urban Services Lindomar Guida emphasized the importance of the intervention, asked for public understanding, and advised drivers to use alternative routes and exercise caution near the closed area. The road is expected to reopen on Thursday, March 6. The intersection lies near Shopping Sinop, between Avenida Alexandre Ferronato and Avenida Foz do Iguaçu, with Rua Manaus situated between Rua João Pedro Moreira de Carvalho (near the BR‑163 junction with Avenida dos Tarumãs) and Avenida Rute.
