Sinop celebrates 52nd anniversary with parade and fishing tournament

The city of Sinop is celebrating its 52nd anniversary through the Festeja Sinop festivities, featuring a civic parade and a major fishing tournament.

A traditional civic parade will take place on Avenida Dom Henrique Froehlich, starting at 17:30 to avoid high temperatures. The event is expected to draw 4,000 people and will include 82 platoons representing educational institutions, charitable entities, and security forces. To accommodate the public, bleachers have been installed along a 600-meter stretch of the avenue.

Additionally, the 6th edition of the Sinop Artificial Lure Sport Fishing Tournament will be held at Praia do Cortado on the Teles Pires River. The competition offers over R$ 100,000 in prizes, including cash, motorcycles, kayaks, and boats. The tournament is divided into two categories: individual human-powered kayaks on Saturday and motorized vessels on Sunday. The event is accompanied by a free Beach Festival featuring water sports, music, and assisted bathing for people with disabilities.
