Sinop celebrates 52nd anniversary with Festeja Sinop festivities

The city of Sinop is celebrating its 52nd anniversary with the Festeja Sinop 2026 program, featuring a variety of cultural, sporting, and social initiatives.

On August 30, the festivities begin at the Massami Uriú Municipal Stadium (Gigante do Norte) with the opening ceremony of the 34th Olympic and 3rd Paralympic Games of Sinop, followed by a free concert by Padre Fábio de Melo. To ensure public safety and support, the city will provide service tents for health, security, and a specialized 'Tenda Lilás' (Lilac Tent) to offer guidance and assistance to women facing harassment or violence.

Additionally, the 6th Artificial Lure Sport Fishing Tournament will take place on September 5 and 6 at Praia do Cortado. The competition, which includes kayak and motorized boat categories, offers over R$ 100,000 in total prizes, including motorcycles and cash awards. Registration for the tournament remains open until August 30.
