Sinop holds march to prevent feminicide and honor victims

In Sinop, a march and information campaign were held to commemorate the National Day of Mourning and Memory for Women Victims of Feminicide, observed on October 17. The mobilization was organized by the Sinop City Hall's Coordination of Public Policies for Women (CPPM) in partnership with the Network to Confront and Combat Domestic and Family Violence against Women.

The event included a walk from the intersection of Avenida das Sibipirunas and Avenida Governador Júlio Campos to Praça da Bíblia, where an act of tribute was held. Participants distributed informative materials to raise awareness about identifying signs of abuse and strengthening support networks to prevent violence before it reaches extreme levels.

Professor Branca, coordinator of Public Policies for Women, emphasized that the mobilization serves as a call to society to ensure women's rights to live, work, and participate fully in the community, stressing that collective commitment and information are essential to stopping feminicide.
