Sinop hosts various festivals and sporting events for city anniversary

The municipality of Sinop is hosting a series of community events as part of the Festeja Sinop 2026 celebrations, marking the city's 52nd anniversary.

Key festivities include the Beach Festival at Praia do Cortado, featuring free entry, musical performances, and water sports such as kayaking, stand-up paddle, and banana boat rides. The event also hosts the 6th Sport Fishing Tournament. To support attendance, the local government is providing free air-conditioned shuttle services from the Urban Terminal.

Additionally, the 34th Sinop Olympic Games are underway, with competitions spanning various disciplines including football 7, futsal, volleyball, basketball, and handball. Matches are being held across multiple municipal stadiums and gyms, with major finals for basketball and handball scheduled for the coming week.

The city is also supporting the 1st Honey Fair at Praça da Bíblia. Organized by the Nortão Apis Association, the fair features approximately 25 exhibitors showcasing honey, propolis, and related artisanal products from local and regional producers.
