Sinop hosts culinary contest to elect official typical dish
The city of Sinop is hosting the 4th edition of the ‘Encantos da Gastronomia’ project, a competition designed to identify an official typical dish to represent the municipality's cultural identity.
Organized by Senac-MT in partnership with the Sinop City Hall and the City Council, the initiative allows individuals and businesses to register recipes until September 21. Participants must submit the dish's history, ingredients, and cultural significance. Following the registration period, a technical commission will select ten recipes for professional culinary standardization. From these, three finalists will proceed to a public internet vote.
The winner will receive a cash prize and a technical trip to Senac facilities in either Rio de Janeiro or Brasília. If the winning recipe is selected, it may be officially established as the city's signature dish through a local legislative project.
