Sinop hosts elderly community pageants to promote active aging
The city of Sinop, Brazil, held community contests to elect representatives for the elderly, aimed at promoting active aging, social integration, and self-esteem among senior citizens.
At the Dona Zezé Coexistence Center, Maria do Amparo was elected the 2026 Queen. The event was organized by the Sinop City Hall through the Secretariat of Social Assistance to provide opportunities for social participation and emotional expression.
Simultaneously, the Boa Esperança Social Assistance Reference Center (CRAS) held its annual contest, electing Valdemar da Conceição as King and Sida Maria as Queen. These local winners will advance to a municipal stage to select the city's official senior court, who will represent Sinop at regional events and integration trips throughout Mato Grosso.
