Sinop launches new rural tourism experiences in Mato Grosso

The municipality of Sinop has introduced a new rural tourism itinerary designed to transform family farming activities into commercialized tourist experiences. Developed through a partnership between the local government and Sebrae, the initiative aims to generate income for local producers while providing new leisure options for residents and visitors.

A practical test of the route was conducted at Sítio Dois Amigos, involving tour guides and travel agencies. The program offers various interactive activities, including a colonial breakfast featuring locally produced goods, fruit harvesting in orchards, visits to meliponaries (stingless bee farms), and fish farming tanks. Visitors can also participate in guided forest walks and tractor-pulled trailer rides.

With Sebrae providing consultancy on pricing and package formatting, local travel agencies are expected to begin offering these tours in the coming months, strengthening ecotourism and experience-based tourism in northern Mato Grosso.
