Sinop leads Mato Grosso in Leão Amigo tax donations
Sinop has emerged as the leader in the number of donors in Mato Grosso for the 2026 edition of the Leão Amigo Program. A total of 403 individuals and legal entities participated, surpassing other municipalities such as Sorriso and Primavera do Leste in donor count.
In terms of total financial volume, Sinop secured third place in the state, directing approximately R$ 1.7 million toward local social causes. This amount follows Sorriso, which raised R$ 2 million, and Primavera do Leste, which raised R$ 1.9 million.
The funds are allocated to the Municipal Council for the Rights of Children and Adolescents and the Municipal Council for the Elderly. These resources support various social projects and the protection of rights for these specific demographics. The donation process allows taxpayers to direct a portion of their income tax directly to local municipal funds at no additional cost to the contributor.
