Sinop municipality expands free services for consumers and cancer patients

The municipal government of Sinop, Brazil, organized two outreach actions in early August to broaden access to public benefits. On August 1, the "Tchau Sufoco" campaign was held at Praça da Bíblia, offering free debt renegotiation, financial education, vaccination for people and animals, social‑assistance referrals, job listings, housing program information and legal advice. The initiative was coordinated by Procon Sinop director Vilson Barozzi together with the local commercial association.

On August 4, a mobile service was set up at the Rede Feminina de Combate ao Câncer de Sinop (REFECCS) to assist cancer patients and their families. Officials Ivan Altíssimo and Cristiane Resplandes provided help with Cadastro Único registration, guidance on social programmes, information on municipal housing schemes and vaccinations. Both actions aim to reduce financial hardship, improve social inclusion and support vulnerable residents.
