Sinop opens registrations for typical dish competition

The 4th edition of ‘Encantos da Gastronomia – Edição Sinop’ has opened registrations to select a typical dish to represent the municipality of Sinop. The initiative is a partnership between the Fecomércio-MT System, through Senac-MT, the Sinop City Hall, and the Sinop City Council.

Registration is open to residents, amateur or professional cooks, and local businesses such as bars and restaurants. Participants must submit a recipe that represents the local gastronomic identity, including a brief history of the dish, ingredients, preparation methods, and a justification for its cultural relevance. The deadline for submissions is September 21.

Mayor Roberto Dorner stated that establishing a typical dish will strengthen local identity, value the city's history, and promote tourism and commerce as Sinop approaches its 52nd anniversary.
