Sinop to develop new yacht and cruise port in Turkey
A new yacht and cruise port project has been introduced in Sinop, Turkey, aimed at transforming the city into a major maritime destination and marina hub in the Black Sea region. Drilling and ground survey works are currently underway at the Inner Harbor site.
The facility is designed to accommodate 202 small yachts and 7 mega yachts (up to 30 meters). For cruise traffic, the infrastructure includes piers capable of hosting two 200-meter vessels and one 300-meter vessel. The project also features a 33,375-square-meter back area and a 4,950-square-meter maintenance area.
Beyond maritime infrastructure, the project includes approximately 30,000 square meters of social living space, featuring restaurants, cafes, and entertainment areas. Local officials, including Sinop Governor Mustafa Özarslan and AK Party MP Nazım Maviş, noted that the project leverages Sinop’s 175-kilometer coastline and natural bays, such as Hamsilos and Akliman, to boost regional tourism.
