Sinopec opens PIT Ultra supercharging station in Kowloon Bay

Sinopec Hong Kong has officially opened the PIT Ultra Kowloon Bay supercharging station, marking the first conversion of a traditional petrol station into a dedicated high-speed electric vehicle (EV) charging facility in Hong Kong.

The facility features five 600kW liquid-cooled supercharging units. For vehicles supporting 800V architecture or higher, the station can increase battery levels from 20% to 80% in approximately 10 minutes. The site provides 20 DC fast-charging spaces with intelligent power allocation, ensuring that even if all spaces are occupied simultaneously, each vehicle maintains a charging speed of at least 100kW.

To accommodate cross-border drivers under the ‘Guangdong vehicles heading south’ initiative, eight charging spaces are equipped with both GB/T and CCS2 connectors. The station also includes specialized large-vehicle spaces capable of charging double-decker buses.

Designed with a futuristic spaceship concept, the station serves as a lifestyle hub featuring an Easy Joy convenience store, Tiki Easy Coffee, and leisure amenities such as capsule toy machines. Users can manage charging via the PIT EV Charging App, which provides real-time information on stall availability.
