Sint-Jozefkerk in Aalst reaches major renovation milestone
Renovations of the historic Sint-Jozefkerk in Aalst have reached a significant milestone with the completion of the full truss construction above the church nave.
Following the summer break, work is scheduled to begin on the new roof within two weeks, starting with the laying of the first slates. Local officials, including Alderman Sarah Smeyers and representatives from the Vereniging voor Aalsters Kultuurschoon (VVAK), recently inspected the progress from the scaffolding. The project aims to preserve the monument's characteristic appearance and ensure its structural future for upcoming generations through a step-by-step renewal of the various roof sections.
