Sint Maarten delegation attends 63rd PAHO Directing Council

Claret Connor, Sint Maarten’s Minister of Public Health, Social Development and Labor, is leading a delegation to the 63rd Directing Council of the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) in Washington, D.C.

The council brings together health ministers and high-level authorities from across the Americas to discuss regional public health priorities. Key topics for discussion include strengthening emergency preparedness and response, primary health care, digital transformation in the health sector, disease prevention and elimination, and improving the resilience of health systems.

The delegation includes VSA Secretary General Joy Arnell, Head of the Public Health Department Fenna Arnell, and Cabinet Advisor Dominique Hodge. The event also provides an opportunity for bilateral discussions with representatives from the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Aruba, and Curaçao to foster cooperation and resource sharing within the region.
