Sint Maarten officials discuss Mental Health Project with Trust Fund

Claret Connor, the Minister of Public Health, Social Development and Labor (VSA) for Sint Maarten, recently met with representatives from the Trust Fund to discuss the development of a Mental Health Project. The meeting included Frans Weekers, a representative of the Trust Fund Steering Committee and Kingdom partners, and Ronald Halman, the Sint Maarten representative for the Trust Fund.

The discussions focused on strengthening mental health services in Sint Maarten by improving service delivery, increasing institutional capacity, and developing necessary infrastructure. The goal is to create a more accessible, comprehensive, and sustainable mental health care system.

Minister Connor emphasized the need for a coordinated approach that prioritizes resident wellbeing and ensures continuous access to essential services. The meeting served as a precursor to upcoming Steering Committee meetings scheduled to take place in Sint Maarten.
