Police conduct security and traffic checks in Saba, Sint Eustatius, and Sint Maarten

Police forces in the Caribbean have conducted various security and traffic enforcement operations across several islands. In Saba and Sint Eustatius, authorities carried out traffic controls on Tuesday, September 29, 2026.

In Sint Maarten, the Korps Politie Sint Maarten (KPSM) conducted security and transit checks in multiple locations, including Dutch Quarter, Cole Bay, and Maho, between September 28 and September 29. During these operations, officers inspected 24 vehicles and searched 34 individuals. While no illegal weapons or controlled substances were recovered, the KPSM reported a brief high-speed pursuit involving a dark-colored vehicle in the Dutch Quarter area that failed to stop for officers.

The KPSM emphasized the importance of driver cooperation, noting that failure to follow legal instructions from authorized personnel during checkpoints may result in legal infractions.
