Sint-Michielsgestel ice cream maker honors late friend with memorial flavor

In Sint-Michielsgestel, ice cream maker Thierry Matthijsse has created a special flavor to honor his late friend, Harm Schellekens, who passed away last month at the age of 27.

Schellekens, who was known for his positive attitude and humor despite facing serious health challenges from a young age, was a frequent visitor to the ice cream parlor. To commemorate him, Matthijsse developed ‘Harm’s ijsje’, a flavor consisting of forest fruit tea ice cream combined with lemon pie and white chocolate.

In addition to the memorial ice cream, a benefit match that Schellekens had helped organize is scheduled for Friday, September 11.
