Sinterklaas successor remains secret after Stefan de Walle departure

The search for a new Sinterklaas has begun following the announcement that Stefan de Walle will step down from the role after fifteen years. The actor, who has portrayed the character for the Sinterklaasjournaal, expressed that he is leaving the role with a heavy heart.

The broadcaster NTR is maintaining strict secrecy regarding the successor, with reports suggesting that key personnel may be required to sign non-disclosure agreements. While various actors such as Daan Schuurmans, Kasper van Kooten, and Mark van Eeuwen have been mentioned in public speculation, Schuurmans has dismissed rumors of his involvement as “total nonsense.”

A new Sinterklaas is expected to be introduced on the Sinterklaasjournaal starting November 9.
