Silves police arrest two men for impersonating CTT employees

Two men, aged 19 and 26, were arrested in Silves, Portugal, for fraud after impersonating CTT postal employees to collect packages without payment. One of the suspects was a former employee of the postal service, which authorities say allowed him to understand the specific procedures for package collection and distribution.

The suspects were intercepted near a CTT facility in possession of packages valued at approximately 3,500 euros. One individual was wearing a CTT vest to facilitate the deception. Following the arrests, searches were conducted at the suspects' residences in Albufeira, resulting in the seizure of several packages, clothing, watches, electronics, and small quantities of drugs including MDMA, hashish, and cannabis.

The detainees were presented to a judge at the Silves Judicial Court and have been ordered to make periodic appearances at their local police station.
