Sinziger Mosaikfabrik documented mosaic repair processes

Museum Schloss Sinzig has documented the final repair processes of a large-scale mosaic carpet at the Sinziger Mosaikfabrik. The mosaic, measuring approximately 6 by 12 meters, underwent a final inspection and minor corrections in the workshop before being prepared for shipment.

To facilitate installation at the construction site, paper was applied to the front of the mosaic to serve as a laying aid, creating professional mosaic panels. These panels were numbered and labeled for transport. The Sinzig mosaic factory was recognized as Germany’s most significant manufacturer of large pictorial mosaics.
