Sioux Falls hosts summer festivals Wags & Wine and Taste the Goodness

The city of Sioux Falls is staging two summer community festivals. On August 7, the "Wags & Wine" event will close Phillips Avenue between 9th and 11th Streets to traffic, turning the area into an open‑streets pedestrian zone featuring live music, local art displays, wine tastings and a dog‑focused celebration with rescues and pet‑related vendors.

A week earlier, on August 1, the "Taste the Goodness" food and drink festival returned for its 12th year behind the Avera Tech Center. Sponsored by the Catholic Community Foundation for Eastern South Dakota, the ticketed evening offers unlimited tastings from more than 30 local food vendors, over 80 craft‑beer selections, wine and bourbon, as well as games, a silent auction and a dunk tank. Proceeds support the Bishop Dudley Hospitality House and Center for Families, which assist people experiencing homelessness in the region.
