Siouxsie and the Banshees announce remastered ‘Downside Up’ reissue

Siouxsie and the Banshees are releasing remastered deluxe editions of their long out-of-print B-sides collection, ‘Downside Up’. The reissue includes a three-CD edition and a five-LP vinyl box set, with the vinyl lacquers cut by Miles Showell at Abbey Road Studios. The collection, which chronologically tracks the band’s B-sides from 1978 to 1995, provides a look at the group’s musical evolution through more experimental and spontaneous recordings.

In a recent interview with Uncut, lead singer Siouxsie Sioux revealed that she is currently working on new music, marking her first such endeavor since the 2015 single ‘Love Crime’. She noted that returning to songwriting requires persistence to regain the creative momentum she experienced during the band’s most active years. Sioux also emphasized the importance of creative independence and the value of re-evaluating past works to maintain artistic growth.
