SIP-AN union demands unpaid wages from San Fernando City Council
The Independent Professional Union of Police of Andalusia (SIP-AN) is demanding that the San Fernando City Council address outstanding payments owed to municipal employees. The dispute concerns compensation for services provided during the first testing phase of a selection process for ten local police positions, which took place on April 5, 2025.
According to the union, workers have been waiting for over a year to receive these promised funds for duties performed outside their regular working hours. SIP-AN has filed multiple formal inquiries requesting clarification on the cause of the delay and a timeline for payment, but claims they have met with administrative silence. The union specifically criticized the Head of Citizen Security, María José Foncubierta, for failing to provide effective responses to the affected workers or their union representatives. SIP-AN has warned that if the administration continues to withhold information, they will be forced to take the matter to court.
