Sipoo promotes accessible and sustainable mobility for European Mobility Week

The municipality of Sipoo is participating in European Mobility Week, held from September 16 to 22, 2026. This year’s theme, “Mobility for All,” focuses on the right to sustainable mobility regardless of income, location, gender, ability, or age.

As part of the celebrations, the Sipoo safe and sustainable traffic working group is hosting a discussion event on September 16 at the Sipoo Festive Hall. The event will feature a presentation on the “Accessible Walking Routes in Nickby and Söderkulla” project, which is currently underway in 2026. This project has received state funding for mobility management from the Finnish Transport and Communications Agency, Traficom.

The discussion aims to address accessibility, traffic environments, and how to develop walking paths to meet the needs of diverse user groups. The event is designed to support long-term goals for promoting walking and cycling within the municipality.
