Sir Ranulph Fiennes: Welfare concerns raised as King Charles III is reportedly blocked from contact
Concerns are mounting over the welfare of 82-year-old explorer Sir Ranulph Fiennes, who has not been seen in public for approximately two years. Reports suggest he has been moved between care homes in Wales and Cheshire under assumed identities.
King Charles III was reportedly “most concerned” after being alerted to Fiennes’ declining health and isolation by fellow explorer Anton Bowring. However, attempts by the King to reach out were allegedly blocked by Fiennes’ wife and legal guardian, Louise Millington-Cotes.
Family members and high-profile friends, including Bear Grylls and John Simpson, are calling for an urgent investigation by the police and the Office of the Public Guardian. Fiennes’ stepson, Alexander Millington-Cotes, has expressed frustration over being unable to locate his stepfather and has launched a crowdfunding campaign to support a legal challenge to contest his mother's power of attorney.
In Wales, a care home owner previously raised concerns that Fiennes may have been “unlawfully deprived of his liberty” due to a lack of necessary legal authorization for his continuous supervision and control.
