Anversa degli Abruzzi, Scanno, and Villetta Barrea sign new security pacts
The Prefect of L'Aquila, Vito Cusumano, has signed three new Urban Security Pacts with the municipalities of Anversa degli Abruzzi, Scanno, and Villetta Barrea. This brings the total number of such pacts in the L'Aquila province to 52.
These agreements allow the mountain towns to apply for state funding dedicated to urban video surveillance. The primary goal is to install advanced visual networks at strategic points, such as historic centers and main access routes, to deter petty crime and monitor visitor movement.
Beyond electronic surveillance, the initiative promotes an integrated security model through increased cooperation between state police forces and local police to ensure a constant presence in high-traffic areas, protecting both residents and tourists.
