Siracusa football club rebuilds squad under coach Cacciola and technical director Catania

Italian Serie D side Siracusa Calcio is launching a rebuilding programme aimed at re‑engaging its fan base. The club has reinstated former coach Gaspare Cacciola, whose return is described as the starting point of a project to restore enthusiasm among supporters.

The organisational team now includes ex‑striker Lele Catania as technical director, working alongside Cacciola and president Alessandro Ricci. Player recruitment is underway, with midfielder Dario Giacomarro (ex‑Trapani) identified as a key signing, and young prospects such as forward Christian Gambino (Palermo Primavera) and left‑back Giuseppe Birardi (Parmonval) confirmed. Additional contacts with former players and local talents are in progress, and the squad already lists thirteen members, with plans to reach about twenty‑five before the season starts.

Preparations for the new campaign have been adjusted: the pre‑season training camp, originally set to begin earlier, has been moved to start on 30 July in Monasteri near Siracusa, followed by a two‑week session, a short break for Ferragosto, and then further training.
