Siracusa public housing receives funding for energy efficiency upgrades

A total of 596 public housing units in the province of Siracusa have been approved for funding under the PNRR–REPowerEU M7-I.17 measure. This initiative focuses on the energy efficiency of public residential buildings.

The funding, awarded to the IACP of Siracusa, covers the first three lots of the project. Planned renovations include the installation of new window frames, thermal insulation (cappotti termici), and other works designed to improve energy performance and resident comfort.

Nationally, approximately 1.581 billion euros have been mobilized to requalify 1,981 buildings across 311 municipalities and 33 provinces. In Siracusa, two additional lots involving 478 more homes are currently awaiting financial coverage, with discussions underway to secure further resources.
