Siracusa water network upgrades and emergency repairs announced

Aretusacque has announced a series of infrastructure interventions and repairs in Siracusa to address water distribution issues.

Starting by December, a 155,000 euro project will modernize the water network in via Ispica and the adjacent Ronchi areas. The work involves replacing obsolete pipes with 675 meters of new high-density polyethylene tubing and renewing connections. This upgrade is expected to benefit approximately 450 residents and 82 utility connections by improving pressure and reducing leaks.

Separately, the company is managing emergency repairs at the Teracati reservoir following electrical blackouts that caused pipe ruptures. These failures have led to water shortages and pressure drops in the Ortigia and Borgata districts. Repair teams are working to restore full functionality to the strategic infrastructure.
