Sirius synchrotron advances material science research in Brazil
The Sirius synchrotron accelerator, a fourth-generation facility operated by the National Synchrotron Light Laboratory (LNLS) at the National Center for Research in Energy and Materials (CNPEM), serves as an advanced platform for studying new materials.
Dr. Verônica C. Teixeira, a researcher at LNLS and professor at Unicamp, will present on the facility's capabilities, specifically focusing on the Carnaúba beamline. This line is designed for X-ray nano-spectromicroscopy, allowing for deep investigation into the chemical composition, structure, and morphology of matter across a spectral range from infrared to X-rays. The research involves the development of functional materials, such as luminescent compounds.
