Sirte Oil increases gas production at Libya’s Al-Hatiba field

Sirte Oil Company has successfully brought the S-24 natural gas well online at the Al-Hatiba field in Libya. The new well adds approximately 5 million cubic feet of gas per day to the field’s output.

This addition follows the recent connection of wells S-02 and S-28, which helped increase the Al-Hatiba field’s total production from roughly 90 million cubic feet per day to over 103 million cubic feet per day. The increased output is intended to stabilize and strengthen gas supplies for the company’s industrial complex and the Libyan Fertilizer Company.

National Oil Corporation (NOC) Chairman Masoud Suleman noted that the company is working on broader infrastructure developments. These include plans to link the Al-Hatiba field with the Al-Istiqlal field to create a more unified production and transportation system. Such integration would allow gas to be consolidated through 30-inch and 36-inch transmission pipelines, increasing operational flexibility and capacity.
