Sis Dağı Festival Litter Sparks Clean‑up Push by Şalpazarı Municipality in Trabzon

The 205th edition of the Sis Dağı festivals in Trabzon attracted tens of thousands of participants who enjoyed traditional horon dancing and picnics on the mountain. Despite the Şalpazarı Municipality distributing thousands of trash bags before the event, many visitors left plastic bottles, packaging and other waste directly on the grass.

The municipality announced a clean‑up operation after the festivities, emphasizing that personal responsibility is essential to protect the natural area. Local residents called for greater environmental awareness at large gatherings.
