Sisak Diocese celebrates Family Day at St. Quirinus Basilica

The Sisak Diocese held its traditional Family Day on Saturday, October 24, 2026, at the Basilica of St. Quirinus in Sisak. The event brought together numerous families, including those recognized by the ‘Cardinal Franjo Kuharić’ Diocesan Foundation.

Bishop Vlado Košić led the mass and presented annual gifts to families on the ‘Families 5+’ list, which currently includes more than 180 families with five or more children. In his homily, Bishop Košić described the family as a ‘school of love’ and the primary place where individuals learn to care for others, including parents, siblings, and the community.

During the Year of Charity, the Bishop emphasized that families serve as the foundation for developing sensitivity toward those in need, shaping future volunteers for parish and diocesan charity work. He specifically commended large families for their openness to life and their role as a witness to love in modern society.
