Sisak region traffic accident leaves five injured

A severe traffic accident occurred on Tuesday afternoon near Sisak, Croatia, on the county road between Desna Martinska Ves and Desno Trebarjevo. The incident involved a car, a tractor with a trailer, a cyclist, and a parked trailer.

According to police reports, a 33-year-old driver lost control of his vehicle while entering a curve due to inappropriate speed. The car crossed into the opposite lane and struck a trailer being pulled by a tractor operated by a 55-year-old. The impact caused the trailer to sway, forcing a 72-year-old cyclist to veer off the road into a grassy area to avoid a collision. The car subsequently overturned and struck an unregistered trailer parked near agricultural land.

Five people were injured in the crash. The victims include the 33-year-old driver, a 30-year-old passenger, and a 72-year-old cyclist, all of whom sustained serious injuries. One minor passenger suffered minor injuries, while a second minor passenger sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to KBC Dubrava. The injured individuals were treated at the Sisak General Hospital and KBC Dubrava. Authorities will file criminal charges against the 33-year-old driver for causing a traffic accident.
