Sisačko‑Moslavačka County launches €824 k Natura 2000 grassland biodiversity project

The Public Institution for Management of Protected Areas of Sisačko‑Moslavačka County (Croatia) began implementing a project to improve management and preserve biodiversity of grassland habitats within the Natura 2000 ecological network. Funded under the Competitiveness and Cohesion Programme 2021‑2027, the €824,871.34 project – with €701,140 co‑financed by the European Regional Development Fund – includes restoration of 30 ha of nitrophilous pastures, research and monitoring of six strictly protected bird species (including the imperial eagle and Osprey), capacity building for staff through GIS training, and public outreach activities.

The initiative aims to strengthen habitat quality, enhance monitoring of target species, and raise visibility of the conservation effort through conferences and accessible informational material.
