Sislej Xhafa to join University of Prishtina Faculty of Arts

International artist Sislej Xhafa will join the academic staff of the Faculty of Arts at the University of Prishtina for the 2026/2027 academic year. The University of Prishtina Senate approved his engagement during a meeting on August 28, 2026.

Xhafa was selected under a provision that allows for the involvement of personalities with extraordinary international achievements. Based in New York since 2000, the artist has a global career that includes exhibitions and academic work across Europe, North America, and Asia. His work frequently explores social, political, and historical themes, often focusing on the Albanian experience and Kosovo. He notably represented Kosovo at the Venice Biennale in 2017.
