Sistema DIF Baja California provides nutrition training for autism care
The Sistema DIF Baja California conducted a specialized training session titled ‘Child Nutrition in People with ASD’ in Mexicali. The program was designed to provide comprehensive and sensitive care tailored to the specific needs of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
The training targeted psychologists and clinical staff working in autism areas, the Integral Rehabilitation Center (CRI), the Family Care Psychological Center, and the Mexicali Temporary Shelter. Mavis Olmeda García, President of the State DIF System, stated that the initiative aims to provide staff with better technical and human tools to strengthen the support provided to families through interdisciplinary care.
Led by nutritionists Gabriel Enrique Gamboa Martínez and Pablo Manuel Cisneros Martínez, the sessions covered essential topics including the principles of balanced eating, the relationship between nutrition and ASD, and specific tools for nutritional guidance based on individual patient characteristics.
