Sistema DIF Yucatán trains public servants on autism support
The Sistema DIF Yucatán, through the Center for Rehabilitation and Special Education (CREE), conducted a workshop on the ‘Respira Protocol’ for 50 public servants. Participants included staff from the State Procuracy for the Protection of Children and Adolescents (Prodennay) and Social Assistance Centers (CAS).
The training focused on autism, sensory profiles, and the use of materials to facilitate regulation processes, particularly during daily activities or sensory crises. The initiative aims to provide public servants with the knowledge to offer respectful and appropriate support to autistic individuals experiencing deregulation.
This program follows previous training sessions held in August and complements a dedicated regulation area at the Government Palace, designed to provide support and information for autistic people facing sensory challenges.
