Sister Melhiora Biošić leaves Zadar after 45 years of service
Sister Melhiora Biošić, a prominent figure in the Zadar Archdiocese, is leaving Zadar for Split after 45 years of humanitarian, medical, and spiritual work. Her departure follows decades of service, including 32 years as the founder and lifelong president of the Croatian Catholic Association of Nurses and Technicians Zadar, and her tenure as a nurse at the Zadar General Hospital laboratory.
The move is motivated by a personal commitment to her sister, Miljenka, who is also a nun and is immobile. For over a decade, Melhiora has provided daily care for Miljenka, performing physically demanding tasks alone. Following a recent fall, Melhiora can no longer provide the necessary level of care independently. Consequently, Miljenka will be moved to the Convent of the Franciscan School Sisters in Split, and Melhiora has decided to relocate there to remain by her side and assist as her health permits.
