Sister Schubert's sausage wrap rolls returning to shelves
Sister Schubert’s sausage wrap rolls are returning to grocery store shelves after a five-year absence. The announcement was made during the Business Council of Alabama’s Government Affairs Conference.
Clarence Mingo, Marzetti’s vice president of corporate affairs and government relations, confirmed the return in response to a question from an attendee. Marzetti had originally removed the sausage wrap rolls from production in 2021, replacing them with sausage pinwheels. The decision to discontinue the original rolls had previously drawn significant consumer backlash, including a Change.org petition with over 12,000 signatures.
Sister Schubert’s, which began in a Troy church kitchen in 1989, maintains its flagship bakery in Luverne, Alabama.
