Sitapur administration seizes City Congress Committee office

District administration officials in Sitapur, Uttar Pradesh, have taken possession of the City Congress Committee office located in the historic Ghantaghar area. The action was taken after the notice period issued by the municipality expired.

The office was built on Nazul land. Following a 15-day notice to file objections, officials stated that no significant documents were provided by Congress representatives to claim the property. Although supporters sought relief from the Allahabad High Court, the court dismissed their petition, allowing the administration to proceed.

On Saturday, a team including the SDM Sadar, Executive Officer of the Municipality, and the Tehsildar arrived at the site with a heavy police presence. The office was found empty and has since been sealed by the administration.
