Sitapur and Misrikh assembly caste demographics analyzed

Analysis of the caste demographics and voter data for the Misrikh and Sitapur assembly constituencies in Uttar Pradesh ahead of the 2027 elections.

In the Misrikh assembly (Seat 153), which is reserved for Scheduled Castes, the electoral outcome is influenced by a combination of Dalit, Other Backward Class (OBC), and upper-caste voters. Key groups include Pasi-Rawat, Rajvanshi, Jatav, Kurmi, Yadav, Maurya-Kushwaha, Brahmin, Thakur, and Muslim voters. The current BJP MLA is Ramkrishna Bhargava, a member of the Pasi community, who won consecutive terms in 2017 and 2022. The 2026 voter list for Misrikh records 301,008 total voters.

The Sitapur assembly (Seat 146) is a general seat where the social equation between Dalit, OBC, and Muslim voters serves as a primary axis, alongside Vaishya, Brahmin, Kayastha, and urban upper-caste voters. The current BJP MLA is Rakesh Rathore ‘Guru’, an OBC candidate who won the 2022 election by a margin of 1,253 votes. The 2026 voter list for Sitapur records 307,957 total voters.

Both constituencies are part of the broader political landscape of Uttar Pradesh, where social engineering and caste dynamics are considered decisive factors for the 2027 assembly elections.
