Sitapur officials inspect flood-prone areas following heavy rainfall
Heavy rainfall in the Sitapur district of Uttar Pradesh has led to severe waterlogging and rising river levels, prompting an emergency response from local authorities. District Magistrate Dr. Rajaganapathi R. and Superintendent of Police Ankur Agarwal conducted joint inspections of flood-prone areas, including Purnagiri Mohalla and the Biswan intersection in Sidhauli tehsil.
To manage the flooding, officials have deployed three engines to assist with water drainage. Affected residents are being relocated to safe locations such as schools, shelters, and community halls, where the administration is providing food, drinking water, and other essential supplies.
Police and administrative teams remain on high alert to monitor sensitive areas. Authorities have advised the public to avoid rivers, drains, and dilapidated buildings, and to contact emergency services via UP Dial-112 if assistance is required.
