Sitapur police officials face action following teenage girl's death

The Uttar Pradesh government has taken disciplinary action following the death of a teenage girl in the Kotwali Dehat area of Sitapur. After the girl's body was found hanging from a tree, police registered a case and detained three suspects for questioning. A post-mortem report confirmed the cause of death as hanging.

In response to perceived negligence in the handling of the case, the government suspended the local outpost in-charge (Chowki Incharge) and initiated an investigation against the Station House Officer (SHO). This move aligns with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s zero-tolerance policy regarding both crime and administrative negligence in maintaining law and order.
