SITHO 2026 tourism fair concludes in Burkina Faso
The 16th edition of the International Tourism and Hotel Trade Fair (SITHO 2026) concluded in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, following a week of activities from September 22 to 27. The event featured over 500 exhibitors across 138 stands and attracted approximately 18,000 visitors.
Under the theme ‘Financing structural projects: a lever for tourism development,’ the fair emphasized regional cooperation, featuring special guests from Mali and Niger. The event highlighted the intersection of tourism, culture, and local entrepreneurship, showcasing everything from traditional Malian incense to organic Burkinabè food products like moringa-based infusions and biscuits.
In addition to tourism, the fair served as a platform for regional economic integration within the Alliance of Sahel States (AES). The 2027 edition is scheduled to take place with the Djôrô region as the guest of honor.
