Situbondo initiatives aim to support MSMEs through financing and cooperatives

In Situbondo, East Java, efforts are underway to support micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) through improved financial literacy and cooperative structures.

Commission VI of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI), in collaboration with PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI), held a socialization event for MSMEs and Muslimat NU. The initiative focused on facilitating access to financing, specifically regarding People's Business Credit (KUR), while providing education on the risks of online loans. HM Nasim Khan, a member of Commission VI, emphasized the importance of continued assistance for residents in Situbondo, Bondowoso, and Banyuwangi to improve welfare through easier access to capital.

Simultaneously, the newly inaugurated Regional Indonesian Cooperative Council (Dekopinda) of Situbondo, led by Zulfikar Purnama Rahman, announced plans to help MSMEs scale up by organizing them into cooperatives. Dekopinda aims to provide assistance with licensing, legal institutional status, and access to capital programs such as Vorsa. The organization seeks to bridge the gap between local business needs and regional government policies.
